I had an issue with my bathroom and couldn’t decide if I should replace the tiles, re-grout or see if I could clean it well enough to make a difference. I am sure that most homes across the USA with tiles have the same issue of filthy grout. I would not use chemicals as that is not safe for our family and pets let alone the environment. I watched a video on how to remove grout and it is a lot of hard work, time and mess none of which I have time for. I got estimates for removal and laying new tile; it is way too expensive and again time and mess. Final option, use my Eurosteam® XVapor 1500 steam cleaner.
I had nothing to lose except the dirty grout look that has built up on my bathroom floor for years thanks to chemicals that say they clean but obviously they don’t. I got my Eurosteam® XVapor 1500 steam cleaner ready and I made sure that I had rags to wipe up the moisture; all ready to go. I attached the detail brush and started in the corner behind the toilet.
I would steam each grout line, one at a time, and just lightly scrubbed the grout to loosen the built up grime then use a rag to wipe us any moisture left behind. I continued steam cleaning the grout one line then another and another and so on; thankfully the Eurosteam® XVapor 1500 if portable, light weight and has a large capacity water tank. It took me a 1 ½ hours but look at my floor before and after.
In the end I never have to do this again as I can now maintain it with regular steam cleaning of my bathroom floor and it cost me only some time. No mess, extra expense or back breaking grout removal.
